What is the real goal of you trading the forex market? It is simply to make some extra cash for yourself? Do you enjoy the rush you get from the actual trading? Or, do you harbor a secret desire to make this into your primary income source?
If you’re trading Forex with the goal of making this into your source of living, you need to start thinking about Forex in a different way than most traders do. While Forex remains a hobby (even if it’s one that takes hours of their time) for most traders, if you want to trade for a living you’ve got to get your act together and create a real Forex business plan for yourself. You can’t just do this as some hobby.
To trade Forex for a living requires being able to make enough on the market consistently to live off. You need to be able, on average, to make enough every month to get by handsomely. How much money that requires is different for each person. No two people are alike in this respect.
You also need to make some sort of game plan for yourself. This is no longer something you do when you feel like it. This is your business. Set time each day for Forex, to learn, get updates and to trade. It has to become a routine if it’s to ever become a full time living for you.
In addition, plan and and create a budget for your education and tools. You can’t just run around buying anything that moves simply because it seems like the next best thing. Having a budget will keep you under tight control and discipline. But you need to be firm with yourself and really set a top budget amount and not exceed it.
Now is also the time to make sure you have a comfortable trading station with a good chair, nice monitor, and anything you need to immerse yourself in trading. You need to be able to focus on trading and nothing else.
Trading for a living is a process. It won’t happen overnight. Take your time, do things gradually and you can become a full time, independent Forex trader.
