Every so often you hear about traders getting cheated out of their hard earned money by buying some useless Forex scam product that promises the world and delivers very little. As I also run the Forex review site: Truth About Forex, I’ve seen my share of Forex scams and I’ve heard some horror stories.
However, I am totally not concerned about Forex trading scams and I don’t think you should be too. At least not about the majority of scams. Most of the complaints are about trading robots and systems that just fail to deliver any results and seem to have been marketed with lies and fabrications.
Well, so what?
This is Forex, one of the easiest markets to test a product out without risking any real money. This is what a demo account is for, after all. You just take this system that you bought or plug in that robot and see how they do with virtual money. If they’re not as good as their maker claims they are, you’ll know soon enough.
As most Forex products are sold with a money back guarantee period of at least 30 days (and often more), you can even get your purchase money back. It’s really risk free.
What you mustn’t do are two things:
1. Start to trade with real money too soon. Even if your initial trades on a demo account are successful, take some extra time and wait until you’re absolutely sure that you have a winner in your hands.
2. A scam that is dangerous is to actually give money away to some unknown broker. This is risky since you’ve deposited real money in an account and it may not be easy to get it back if you stumbled upon a shady broker. This is rare and most brokers are legit, but take care to do your own research to make sure you’re using a credible service.
As to Forex trading products and systems, there is really no risk apart from some wasted time and a little frustration. On the other hand, if you stumble upon a really great Forex robot or system, you stand to gain a lot so I think that active searching and trying out new system is an activity that you should pursue regardless of the scams you may encounter.
